How can I improve the look of my face?

Why not try dermal fillers? These are a popular and non-surgical cosmetic treatment used in facial aesthetics. Camden is home to at Ace Dental, where we provide this rejuvenating treatment. Dermal fillers produce a more youthful appearance by restoring fullness to the face and lips. They work by reducing or eliminating lines, wrinkles and folds in the skin. What’s more the effects can be seen immediately after treatment.

As your skin ages, you will lose collagen, fat and other natural moisturising substances from under your skin. These substances are known as the natural ‘scaffolding’ that keep your skin looking young and feeling firm. With less of these about, your will appear thinner, with lines and wrinkles becoming more prominent.  This is usually most noticeable on the face. Dermal filler provide an effective solution to these imperfections.

What are dermal fillers made of?

Different kinds of materials are used as dermal fillers, all of which have been specifically designed for this purpose and are safe. Two kinds of dermal fillers are usually suggested for the face: semi-permanent and non-permanent. At our practice we use non-permanent fillers, which come with the fewest risks and so are one of the safest options available. The effects of the non-permanent dermal fillers will still last for around 6 months to a year.

Is the treatment uncomfortable?

A local anaesthetic cream is used to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. For treatments near the mouth, such as lip treatments, our dentists will numb the area with an injection that is just like a dental anaesthetic. After the treatment, our dentists will give you aftercare instructions to maximise the benefits of your treatment with facial aesthetics in Camden.

Are there any side effects?

Most of our patients will return to their normal daily life immediately after dermal filler treatment. However, our dentists will explain the possible side effects during your initial consultation for facial aesthetics in Camden. These are few and not long lasting.

The most likely side effect is related to the fact that you have had injections in the facial area, which can result in some mild bruising or swelling. This typically lasts between 1 to 3 days.
