Does your face match your teeth?

Did you know that you can make a good guess as to someone’s age by looking at their teeth? If the teeth are white with rounded corners, then they are probably under 30. From then on teeth get duller, the edges flatten with use and after about age 45, little black triangles of space start to appear between them up by the gums. If you have teeth whitening or veneers, you are going to end up with teeth that look younger than you may be. If you are starting to look older (and most people over 30 are), then you could well end up with some kind of weird disparity between the apparent age of your smile and that of your face. You can even this out with facial aesthetics in Camden from us at Ace Dental.

Facial aesthetics in Camden is not about dramatic changes that make you no longer look like yourself. Our treatments at Ace Dental are designed to gently smooth away some of the years to reveal the real you under the hollows and wrinkles. We use 2 different treatments to achieve this:

Botox

This is an injectable treatment that relies on the purified protein of the Botulinum type A toxin. We inject it into muscles that are habitually held in contraction. Botox dials down the signalling between the nerve and the muscle, and over the week after your treatment, the muscle slowly relaxes, and the wrinkle smooths out. Botox is great for worry lines, frown lines, crow’s feet and even smoker’s lines around the top lip. The treatment takes only a few minutes per area and lasts for around 4 months. Lots of patients come back for a top-up treatment around the 3 month mark.

Dermal fillers

Injections containing hyaluronic acid, a natural gel that the body uses to hold in moisture, are carefully delivered into areas that need plumping out. These are wrinkles and hollows caused by the loss of fat under the skin, and loss of muscle tone. Great areas for treatment include: lines around the nose and mouth, flattened top lips and even the backs of the hands.
