How can braces in Camden improve your smile?

Braces are designed to move teeth. They can be used in a variety of ways to improve the health and appearance of your smile.

When you have braces in Camden with Ace Dental, we can do an assessment of your smile and your needs to see how braces can help.

Braces can be used to pull teeth back into line, push them forwards, rotate twisted teeth and close gaps. All of these things can be done by the same set of braces if required, so you can see how some teeth straightening plans can be quite intricate.

Our dentists can predict how your teeth will behave when braces are applied. This means that they can ensure that there is room for your new smile and that any well-aligned teeth remain in position.

Occasionally, it is necessary to remove teeth to make room for a straight smile. If this is the case for you, one of our team will discuss the possibility with you so that you remain in control of the process at all times. We keep you informed at every stage.

Types of braces

There are a number of different types of braces in Camden that are available for straightening your teeth with Ace Dental. Based on an assessment of your teeth, your dentist will make recommendations. Some braces can only be applied in certain conditions. However, you may be able to choose between a few options.

Braces can be fixed or removable.

Fixed braces, like Six Month Smiles, are applied to the teeth using a dental adhesive. A wire is threaded through static brackets. These are placed in the right position so that, when the wire tries to straighten itself, it applies pressure through the brackets in the direction we want the teeth to move.

Removable braces, like Invisalign, can take different forms. They may be clear plastic casings that fit over the top of the teeth. The inside of these are contoured to apply pressure in the right direction.

Other types of removable braces, like Inman Aligner, can take the form of a single wire that fits across the teeth. This applies gentle pressure and can be used to swiftly correct minor issues.
