Take years off your face with facial aesthetics in Camden

Daily facial expressions, such as laughing, smiling or frowning, can naturally cause lines and wrinkles to develop on our faces over time. These lines are often associated with ageing. Many of us would like the opportunity to look younger.

At Ace Dental, you can now take years off your face with anti-wrinkle injections such as Botox and dermal fillers. Facial aesthetics in Camden are provided by our highly-trained cosmetic dentists, who can help you restore your youthful appearance without resorting to surgery.

Botox

Botox is the trade name for a natural protein known as botulinum toxin. It is the most researched and widely used treatment in the cosmetic industry and is popular with both men and women for getting rid of annoying lines and wrinkles. When injected into the muscles that cause wrinkles, Botox stops them from moving and can reverse signs of ageing within just two weeks. In some cases, Botox is also used to control excessive underarm sweat, as well as correct gummy smiles. The results usually take between 3-10 days to take effect and will last for around three to six months.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are also injected into the skin to treat fine lines, scars, dents and wrinkles. At Ace Dental, dermal fillers are also used to help refine facial contours and add volume to the lips. Unlike Botox, which simply stops the contraction of the facial muscles, dermal fillers fill in the treatment area in order to restore volume and elasticity to your skin. The results can be seen straight away and aside from potential swelling, which will go away in a few days, your new look will last for 6-18 months.

Will it hurt?

Botox and dermal filler injections are administered using very thin needles, therefore it is unlikely that you will feel any pain or discomfort. Moreover, our cosmetic dentists are highly-trained and they can also offer a local anaesthetic, if needed, as they would do for your dental treatment. Some bruising or swelling can be expected, but it is short-lived.
