Ace Dental

We know just how difficult it can be to cope with teeth that are missing or damaged. Not only can this have an effect on the way you eat, but it can also damage your self-esteem. If this situation sounds familiar, you’ll be excitied to know that All on 4 and All on 6 implants can fix the issue in a sngle day.

What is All on 4 & All on 6?

Whereas regular dental implants typically use eight or more implants you will be able to enjoy an entire new arch of teeth with just 4 or 6 implants, depending on what’s best for you. This can be done in just a single day, meaning that you don’t have to worry about coming to lots of different appointments to have them fitted.

Am I a good candidate for these implants?

If you have suffered from tooth loss, and are hoping to have a full set of teeth in the future, All-on-4 or All-on-6 implants can be a great choice. If you have been disappointed because you don’t fit the criteria for regular implants, then these could be a great alternative.

What is the fitting procedure like?

The first thing you will need to do is to come in and see us. We will talk to you about the procedure to ensure it meets your goals. We always ensure that our patients are given the guidance they need.

Then, we will examine your mouth and give you a CT scan. This gives us a better idea of the structure of your jaw and will let us confirm whether you are a good candidate for this kind of treatment. It will also help us to decide exactly where in your jaw these implants should be inserted to make them as secure as possible.

The implants can be fitted in less than a day, in a procedure lasting just an hour or two. You’ll be given a local anaesthetic to prevent discomfort and can leave the clinic on teh same day with a brand new set of permenent teeth.

Will I need surgery?

Sometimes, patients will need some existing teeth to be removed to make room for the new implants. If this is the case, we will be able to do it on the same day, and you will be given a sedative to help you to remain comfortable.

After this, we will clean your mouth to remove any tissue that might have been damaged, before going ahead and drilling the holes in your jaw needed for the implants. Once your implants are in place, we will stitch the holes with dissolvable stitches, which will disappear on their own within a week or two.

How can I care for my new implants?

You will need to take care after you have had implants fitted. You may find that your face feels bruised, swollen and uncomfortable for a few days after the procedure, but this is completely normal.

We will give you plenty of advice about the kinds of food that you should and shouldn’t eat, and it is likely that you will need to stick to eating soft foods for some time after your treatment.

With regards to cleaning, you should brush just as you would your natural teeth. However, you should take care in doing so until your gums are fully healed after the procedure.

There are also water flossers available, which are a good way of keeping the implants and the surrounding areas clean. Providing you take this advice, you should recover quickly and be able to enjoy your new implants before you know it.
