Straighter Teeth

Invisible braces in Camden – straight to your options

Getting braces as an adult is easier when you can choose options that fit in with your needs and lifestyle. If you need to be conscious of the way your smile looks for work or because of your social life, it’s good to know that invisible braces exist. Invisible braces are any teeth straightening method that is discreet or hidden once it is in place. They tend to be unobtrusive and either see-through or tooth-coloured.

At Ace Dental, we have lots of options when it comes to your invisible teeth straightening treatment. These can be divided into two categories – fixed and removable.

Invisible Braces in CamdenFixed systems

Fixed invisible braces are attached to the teeth in the same way as traditional braces. The difference is that the wires and brackets blend in with the teeth so they are harder to spot from a distance. They stay in place for the duration of your treatment and they are periodically adjusted to ensure that they remain effective.

At Ace Dental, we offer our patients maximum choice so that, when you are selecting your teeth straightening system, you know you’re picking the one that is right for your needs. That’s why we carry many of the leading brands when it comes to fixed, invisible braces such as Quick Straight Teeth, Six Month Smiles and the Damon System.

Removable aligners

When you choose removable aligners, you are in control of your equipment and can remove it at any time. There are guidelines that you need to follow to ensure that you hit the minimum quota of hours that you are required to wear them so that they will be effective. Some aligners are made from very thin pieces of metal whereas others are clear plastic. Either way, they have a low impact on the appearance of your smile. You still need to visit the dentist for check-ups when you have removable aligners but each appointment will not be very long.

Removable invisible braces come in a number of formats and each is designed to suit different circumstances. That’s why, when you are choosing removable braces from Ace Dental, we can recommend Quick Straight Teeth, Inman Aligner or Invisalign depending on your circumstances.

You deserve a brighter smile

Quick Straight Teeth uses transparent brackets that attach to your teeth. They use white, tooth-coloured wires so that the braces are discreet. Most people won’t even be able to tell that you are wearing invisible braces. The treatment works much like removable aligners, but tooth movement is more predictable and more than twice as quick.

Quick Straight Teeth achieve very fast results as the focus is on moving your front six to eight teeth, known as the ‘social six’. These are the teeth that are normally seen when you talk and smile. Once the invisible braces are on your teeth they work in a similar way to other fixed braces by gently applying pressure to your teeth to guide them into the correct position.

Can I afford them?

Due to low laboratory fees and quick very treatment times, invisible braces costs are kept to a minimum. Quick Straight Teeth are more cost-effective than all other similar systems in the UK for invisible braces.

Will they take a long time?

Getting invisible braces for teeth is fast. Treatments take 4 — 24 weeks depending on the complexity of each case. Invisible braces cost little time and money.

Using discreet braces to straighten adults’ teeth

Modern braces don’t have to be made from metal, and in some cases orthodontic treatment needn’t mean wearing a fixed brace at all. Ace Dental in Camden offers a number of discreet teeth straightening options, designed for adults who would like to enjoy the benefits of straighter without having to wear obvious metal braces.

discreet-bracesOrthodontic treatment is often wrongly thought of as only being for children or teenagers. In fact, the benefits of straighter teeth can be enjoyed at any stage in life. Ace Dental in Camden welcomes adult orthodontic patients who either missed out on having braces in their younger days or had treatment only for their teeth to move back to their original position.

Our Camden dental practice uses both fixed braces and clear, removable aligners to move adults’ teeth. The benefits of orthodontic treatment are more than just aesthetic; whilst it may be concerns about your smile’s appearance that initially bring you to our Camden dental centre for teeth straightening consultation, there are numerous health benefits to be gained, too.

To put it simply, straighter teeth are healthier teeth. Improving tooth alignment reduces the hard-to-clean areas where plaque can build up. So long as you practise good dental hygiene and visit your dentist and hygienist regularly, using braces or aligners to straighten your teeth can reduce your chances of both gum disease and tooth decay.

Studies have linked gum disease to a number of general health conditions, including heart and lung disease, premature labour and low birth weight in babies whose mother has the condition.

Camden braces and aligners

When you come to Ace Dental in Camden for a teeth straightening consultation, your dentist will conduct a thorough clinical examination to ascertain the best way to treat you. If you have a preference for braces or aligners, please let your clinician know; we always do our best to accommodate patients’ wishes at our Camden clinic, although the best option for your clinical situation will always be used.

Among the options are lingual braces, which are attached to the rear surfaces of the teeth, tooth-coloured braces, and various removable aligners.

Using invisible braces for straighter teeth

Straighter teeth is the number one item on many people’s smile wish list. Teeth that are misaligned, crooked or crowded cause many adults to be embarrassed about smiling or laughing in public. However, a lot of people when they think about orthodontic treatment imagine traditional metal and wire braces. These are highly effective, but are also very obvious.

bracesThe thought of wearing metal braces for a considerable period of time is even more embarrassing to many than having crooked teeth. Fortunately, there are discreet options available to correct a range of orthodontic problems. Read on to discover how we can help. . .

Fixed appliances (braces) are often the best solution to correct misaligned bites, crowded teeth or unwanted gaps between your teeth. The dental specialty of orthodontics has advanced greatly in recent years, so that patients can benefit from the effect of treatment with fixed braces without the metallic glint to your smile.

Quick Straight Teeth

Quick Straight Teeth fixed appliance are based on the same principals as metal braces. However, they use tooth-coloured wires and clear brackets, meaning they are almost invisible. Treatment with Quick Straight Teeth fixed braces is predictable and often twice as fast as with clear aligners. They work so quickly by focussing on the front six to eight teeth, which also means they are more comfortable than traditional braces because there is no need for excessive tightening of the wire.

Six Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles are a popular way to correct minor to moderate orthodontic problems, focussing on the aesthetic appearance of your smile. They comprise clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires to gently move the “social six” front teeth into a better position. Because they focus on the front teeth they act quickly, with many patients completing treatment in less than six months. They use milder forces than traditional braces, so are more comfortable, as well as being cheaper than traditional orthodontic treatments.

Damon lingual braces

Damon lingual braces are much like traditional braces, but the major difference is they are fixed to the back or “lingual” side of your teeth. This means that nobody will know you are wearing them.

Brackets and wires are customised to fit your teeth exactly, and are suitable for almost every type of orthodontic problem. Damon lingual braces provide accurate treatment for even severe orthodontic cases, and average treatment time is 24 months.

Using removable appliances for straighter teeth

Many adults, when asked what they would like to change about their smile, reply that they would like straighter teeth. However, the thought of having to wear braces for any period of time is enough to put many people off seeking treatment.

straighter teethTraditional metal braces, with their “train-track” style wires and brackets, are very obvious, and even clear and tooth-coloured fixed appliances can interfere with your lifestyle, as they require careful cleaning, more frequent visits to the dentist and hygienist, and can affect your speech, your diet and ability to pursue interests such as playing musical instruments in the early days.

That’s why, for mild to moderate cases of crowded teeth, misaligned teeth and bites, and gaps between the teeth, we recommend using removable clear appliances.

These appliances work in a similar way to fixed braces, gently guiding your teeth into a more desirable position. They have two key features: they are removable, meaning you can take them out to eat – so your diet isn’t restricted – and to clean, and they are clear, meaning that when you are wearing them, nobody will notice you are having orthodontic treatment.

At Ace Dental we have several options for treatment with clear orthodontic appliances. The best option for you will depend on your clinical needs and your lifestyle, and will be fully discussed at your initial consultation. Here are the options we offer:

Quick Straight Teeth

Quick Straight Teeth offer a range of clear, removable appliances that use gentle forces to guide your teeth into a new position. These plastic appliances are incredibly comfortable and highly discreet, using state-of-the-art technology to change the position of your teeth. Average treatment time is between six and 16 weeks.

Inman Aligner

This clear aligner is great for treating protruding or crowded front teeth. Its unique design utilises gentle forces applied to the front and back of the teeth to move them quickly and safely. Average treatment time is between six and 18 weeks, and you can remove the aligner to eat and to clean.

Invisalign comprises a series of clear aligners that guide your teeth into a new position. Each set of between 18 and 30 aligners is made to fit your teeth perfectly, and you will need to change your aligner approximately every two weeks as your teeth move. It can correct a wide range of problems, and has average treatment times of between nine and 15 months.
